Mercedes-Benz has revealed their brand new CL-Class for 2011, which does not use the S-Class name at all–as previously rumoured. The CL coupe will boast a redesign with a new bi-turbocharged V8 engine.

Changes to the body start with a new redesigned front bumper with LED strips and chrome surrounds for the daytime lights, a reshaped bonnet, a more V-shaped grille and new headlamps. The rear end will sport a new bumper and newly designed taillights.

Inside will house higher-quality trim materials, new colour options and a multi-function steering wheel.

Power will come from a 4.7-litre bi-turbocharged V8 engine with BlueDIRECT technology for the CL500 and a seven-speed automatic gearbox with Start-Stop technology and brake energy recovery.

The power will amount to 320kW with 700Nm of torque. These figures amount to a 12 and 32 percent increase in power and torque, respectively. Acceleration stands at 0-100km/h in 4.9 seconds for this motor.

The CL600 will boast a 12-cylinder bi-turbocharged motor with 380kW of power and 830Nm of torque. The 0-100km/h time will be 4.5 seconds where the top speed will be limited to 450km/h.

Mercedes-Benz will reveal the AMG later in the year, while the CL will be released later in the year.
