Bugatti Veyron SuperSport: 895kW With A Top Speed Of 415Km/h
Featured, Miscellaneous | Dean | July 5, 2010 at 23:35Bugatti’s new limited edition Veyron SuperSport has been revealed. The Veyron SuperSport will be more power and faster than the standard model.
The new Veyron SuperSport will boast 895kW (1,200-horsepower) with 1,500Nm of torque and a 0-100km/h time of 2.5 seconds. The engine will be a modified 8.0-litre W16, the same motor from the standard model.
With these figures, Bugatti decided to test the black and orange Veyron at the VW proving grounds in Wolfsburg where the limited edition set a new World Record for production cars.
“In the presence of the German Technical Inspection Agency (TÜV) and a representative of Guinness Book of Records the Super Sport achieved an average top speed of 431.07 km/h [268 mph],” said Bugatti.
“We took it that we would reach an average value of 425 km/h,” explains Bugatti’s chief engineer Dr. Wolfgang Schreiber, “but the conditions today were perfect and allowed even more.”
Officially the top speed sits at 431km/h for the record books, however the company said that a max speed 434km/h was reached. Despite these figures, the speed will be limited to 415km/h.
Changes to the new model include a double diffuser at the back, carbon fibre body parts, a lower body weight and bigger air vents.
