Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Gullwing: Priced At R2,4m In South Africa

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is ready for the South African market. The SLS AMG is the first car ever produced by the AMG department and it boasts a 6.3-litre V8 engine with 420Kw and 650Nm of torque. Dubbed the Gullwing, the SLS AMG is a sporty supercar which weighs in at 1,620kg.

Performance figures are impressive, and this means 0-100km/h in 3.8 seconds with a top speed of 317km/h. The fuel consumption is 13.2-litres per 100km.

Features and equipment on the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG include LED tail lights, 19 and 20-inch wheels, gullwing-doors, an AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports transmission, and an aluminium chassis and body.

On the 7-speed gearbox there are four driving models, “C” (Controlled Efficiency), “S” (Sport), “S+” (Sport plus) or “M” (Manual). Each of these modes will have different functions, and an example of this is automatic double-declutching when using the Sport, Sport plus and Manual modes.

Naturally, AMG added various safety features such as ESP, traction control and a limited slip differential to name a few.

South African pricing for the SLS AMG starts at R2,425,000.
