Nissan To Recall 46,000 Cubes Due To Fuel Leak In Crash Test

Nissan will recall their Cube as it seems to leak fuel after crashing. The problem was found during the US government rear-impact crash tests.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, or NHTSA, said “When the vehicle was rotated following a rear moving barrier crash test as required, the amount of fuel leakage exceeded the allowable limits.”

Nissan said that their tests did not result in any fuel leakage, but they will issue a voluntary recall for all 46,000 models in the United States.

The fix will be a special protector attached to the petrol recirculation tube.

“Dealers will develop a special protector and attach it to the gasoline recirculation tube at the location of the filler neck connector. This service will be performed free of charge,” said Nissan.
