Abarth Roadster To Use KTM X-Bow Underpinning?

Rumour has it that Abarth might be working on a rival for the Lotus Exige. It was hinted that KTM X-Bow would be used as the basis of the new model, however this seems to conflict with previous news on a Abarth 500 Speedster or two-seat coupe.

It’s said that the release for this model could be 2013 where it will boast a mid-engine layout. The engine to be used could be a 1.8-litre Fiat produced MultiAir turbocharged unit which pumps out 149kW of power with 310Nm of torque.

Of course the Abarth-modified X-Bow will look very different to the original X-Bow. Expect a production cycle of around 2,000 units only.
