Honda Will Recall 383,000 Vehicles

Honda has announced that they will recall a staggering 383,000 vehicles in the United States alone. The recall is due to a malfunction of the ignition interlock on the Accord, Civic and Element models.

Honda has said that 197,000 Accord and 117,000 Civic models from 2003, as well as 69,000 Element’s from 2003 and 2004, are affected.

“The ignition interlock mechanism can be damaged or worn during use,” said Honda. “If this happens, it may become possible to remove the ignition key when the shift lever is not in Park. If the transmission is not in Park and the parking brake is not set, the vehicle could roll away, and a crash could occur.” they added.
