Mazda Has Revealed Their Shinari Concept

Mazda has revealed a four-door coupe concept at a private press event held in Milan. Mazda’s Shinari concept boasts a new front end which will soon find its way onto all future models.

The styling theme is called ‘Kodo’ and it means ‘soul of motion’ in Japanese. Mazda’s Kodo design language was created through a joint effort between Japanese, U.S. and German design studios.

We’re not sure when the new design will find its way onto future models, as Ikuo Maeda — general manager of Mazda Motor Corp.’s design division — only said that it “will lead to the next generation of Mazda design”.

Mazda’s Shinari shows that the brand is looking to target premium vehicles; therefore the interior equipment and elements will definitely improve.

“We want to play in the same group as BMW and Audi,” said Derek Jenkins, director of design for Mazda North America. “On fit and finish we want the same level of quality.”

Expect a reveal at the Paris Motor Show.
