clutchd-com-vw-bug-converted-human-excrement This special little VW Beetle has been converted to run on methane gas produced by human excrement. And that’s the truth.

Dubbed the “Bio-Bug”, the Beetle here is capable of 183km/h from the 2.0-litre motor which runs on the special kind of gas.

”Previously the gas hasn’t been clean enough to fuel motor vehicles without it affecting performance,” said Mohammed Saddiq, the head of GENeco.

”However, through using the latest technology our Bio-Bug drives like any conventional car and what’s more it uses sustainable fuel.” he added.

To keep performance as high as possible, the Bio-Bug will use regular unleaded petrol to get the engine going, and once it’s running the methane will take over.

“If you were to drive the car you wouldn’t know it was powered by biogas as it performs just like any conventional car.”

The Bio-Bug can travel 5.3-litres per cubic metre of biogas.
