Peugeot has released information on their upcoming iOn electric-vehicle, a model which is essentially a rebadged version of Mitsubishi’s i-MiEV. The iOn will boast an electric motor with 47kW of power and 180Nm of torque, where the 0-100km/h time is 15.9 seconds. The top speed will only amount to 130km/h, which isn’t bad seeing as it’s built to be a city-slicker.
There will be a 150km range on a single charge to the 88-cell lithium-ion battery pack. Recharging this unit can take place from a 220V standard household plug, and it’ll take about six-hours to complete. A more beefy 380V plug will charge the battery to 80 percent in 30 minutes.
For the exterior, Peugeot added alloy wheels, fog lamps and automatic headlights. Inside will house a remote control central locking system, air conditioning, electric windows, Bluetooth connectivity, USB connectivity, a navigation system, and an MP3/CD radio.
It won’t however go on sale. Peugeot has said that they will only lease the iOn out for five years at €499 (including VAT) per month.
