Details On The 2011 Peugeot 508

Peugeot has revealed new details and images on their brand new 508 which replaces both the 407 and 607 models. The Peugeot 508 will use the same platform as the Citroen C5 and C6, where it will include two 1.6-litre motors in natural aspiration and turbocharged guise. There will be manual and automatic power available for these engines. Naturally, Peugeot will offer diesel motors too.

The petrol range for the 508 starts with the 89kW naturally aspirated engine which connected to an electronically-controlled manual gearbox. Following this, the 1.6-litre THP turbocharged motor will boost out 116kW of power when connected to a six-speed manual or automatic transmission.

The diesel range includes a 1.6-litre e-HDi with 83kW and an electronically-controlled 6-speed manual gearbox, a 83kW HDi with a normal manual gearbox, a 104kW 2.0-litre HDi connected to a 6-speed manual, a 121kW 2.0-litre HDi connected to a 6-speed automatic ‘box, and finally a 152kW 2.2-litre HDi connected to a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

From 2012 onwards Peugeot will offer a diesel-electric hybrid model. This version will use the same technology found in the 3008 Hybrid4 Crossover.
