New details on the Audi e-Tron Spyder has surfaced where it was once again said that the model will show its face at the Paris Motor Show. It’s expected that the e-Tron will be dubbed the R4, and this means that it will be a smaller brother to the R8 supercar.

AutoBild, the founders of the latest details, have said that the engine will be a center-mounted 3.0-litre V6 TDI which connects to two electric motors. The power from the V6 TDI will travel to the rear wheels through a DSG gearbox, where the electric motors will power the front wheels. Audi’s R4 is expected to have an all-electric driving range of only 50km.

Audi will probably build a limited run of about 1,000 units in 2012. If the model is successful, Audi should create more units.
