Two New Turbodiesel Engines For The Jeep Range

Jeep will use the Paris Motor Show to unveil a brand new line-up for the European market where the Grand Cherokee and Wrangler for 2011 will boast new diesel engines.

The upgraded engine range includes a 2.8-litre turbodiesel V6 engine with 149kW of power and 410Nm of torque — or 460Nm with the five-speed automatic gearbox. This motor is good for a fuel rating of 7.7-litres per 100km in the Cherokee and 7.4-litres per 100km in the Wrangler Unlimited.

Following this is the 2.2-litre turbodiesel with 122kW and 320Nm of torque when connected to a six-speed gearbox. This motor will appear in the Patriot/Compass range where it will replace the 2.0-litre motor. There will be a fuel rating of 6.6-litres per 100km.

More to come at the 2010 Paris Show.
