Audi S1 & Polo R To Boast All-Wheel-Drive

Audi recently revealed that the Audi S1 would use front-wheel-drive, well, it seems as if things have changed. The VW Group said that the upcoming VW Polo R and Audi S1 could in-fact boast all-wheel-drive technology.

Reports said that VW will enhance the PQ25 platform to boast all-wheel-drive technology, namely Quattro for the Audi.

At the Paris Motor Show, Audi revealed a 1.4-litre TFSI A1 which was the equivalent of the S1 however it did not boast quattro technology. Because the model did not include sporty technology such as other S-models, Audi did not call it an S1.

Power for the S1 should amount to the same as the 1.4 TFSI, and this means 136kW with 250Nm of torque. However, there might be a few more kilowatts coming from that motor — or a new motor completely.
