Saab Eyes BMW Front-Wheel-drive Platform
Reports | Dean | October 15, 2010 at 21:18Saab has already signed an engine agreement with BMW, however the Swedish automaker would like to further negotiations by including platforms for front-wheel-drive vehicles. BMW has announced that they will create a new front-wheel-drive platform for small-vehicle competition, and Saab are looking to jump into that market too.
The platform in question will underpin the 9-2 minicar, if everything goes according to plan.
Saab previously tried to team up with MINI, but because BMW are also going front-wheel-drive, there’s a chance that they might keep relations close to BMW.
