Last November, during the later part of the month, Audi revealed their brand new RS3 Sportback which is expected to be one of the fastest, and most powerful, hatchbacks in the market. It will go on sale sometime this year where it will offer 340-horsepower (254kW) with 450Nm of torque from a TT-RS 2.5-litre turbocharged five-cylinder engine.
Audi said that the engine will be connected to a seven-speed S-tronic dual-clutch gearbox with two automatic modes and one manual mode. There’s also a quattro all-wheel-drive system which is always on.
Overall, the above specifications launch the 1,575kg hatchback to 0-100km/h in 4.6 seconds and then onto a limited top speed of 250km/h. Fuel-wise, the Audi RS3 is said to use 9.1-litres per 100km with CO2 emissions amounting to 212g/km.
Features and equipment includes an ESP program which can be turned off for wheel-spinning fun.
Body-wise, there are wider wheel arches, a new body kit with bumpers housing air vents, side skirts, a rear diffuser, and twin-tailpipes. The Audi RS3 offers a 25mm drop when compared to the standard A3, as well as a set of 19-inch wheels in cast aluminium. The brakes are 370mm ventilated discs for the front, with 310mm units fitted to the rear.
The inside will boast a flat-bottom steering wheel, body-hugging bucket seats and Fine Nappa leather covering.
